Omer Raes launched the company in 1927.
At that time he started the production and breeding of Begonia- and Gloxina seeds. Omer had one of the first seed
companies in Europe that offered not only seed, but also seedlings to their clients.
Omers son, Valère added more colours into the Begonia Tuberosa assortment. At that time he began to export his seeds,
mainly to the Netherlands.
He also started the production and sale of seed and seedlings from bedding plants.
