Perennial, though usually treated as an annual. For bedding purposes sow seeds 3 months before sales date. Varieties for cut flower use: plant out 6 - 7 weeks after sowing: 10 x 10 cm: 1 stem. Bed out on 25 x 25 cm. Cut back to 15 - 20 cm in height to induce production of several stems. This may delay flowering by 10 days. Keep plants moist but not wet. Do not overfeed. Sensitive to salt. Use irrigation water with low salt concentration. Grow on in well ventilated and bright conditions.
